In an attempt to clean this site up a bit before I replace it I have added a new section called Photography. It is where all the Photography related entries will go. Hopefully that makes sense anyway |

Richard, which laptop, desktop, camera, blender, TV, Stereo etc etc etc should I buy for wosit this year?
Well damn you for asking
This year seems hard for people as there isn't a lot of money around and well everyone seems to have every thing already.
So my advice this year is to try to buy into "system" gifts. These are gifts that have lots of add ons and accessories so you have stuff to buy that person for xmas and birthdays for years to come. Yes it's a clever idea. Games consoles for kids and well whatever for adults.
As for electronic items, during these times of recession it is probably best to avoid buy it now pay later deals and any finance deals. I recommend if you buying any type of computer then stick with the well known brands. Either buy the cheapest or most top of the range, wouldn't bother with middle of the road stuff this xmas. Netbooks (little laptops) are very popular at the moment but only if the person your buying for already has a larger computer. (Either a bigger laptop or desktop).
TV's and Stereo's, make sure you buy from a well known brand that is likely to still be around in 12 months.
Camera's, apparently digital compact cameras are still rubbish for taking pictures of anything that moves. (Source http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/recommended-cameras.htm).
The Nikon D40 is very cheap everywhere. I have one and it aint to bad. It's a system gift so you would have gift ideas for years

I will do a more complete post when I get around to it.
So I finally received a machine from Elonex. Rather then the Elonex One I ordered ages ago I took the upgrade for the Elonex Onet+ for no extra charge. (I think Elonex are looking to charge about £170 for the Elonex Onet+).
It's small and it runs rather cool. That's about it for positives at the moment. My advice at the moment is to buy a Asus eeePC 700 for the same cost.
Though when I get time I will post a picture and hopefully start hacking it.

OK a weird title. Someone recently searched for "amstrad nc100 modem -null" and it directed them to this site.
Sorry to disappoint but I didn't have that information on my site.
Basically you cross pins 2 and 3 and straight connection between the 5th pins. You may need to also cross pins 7 and 8 but I doubt it.
So:
A B
2----------------------------------3
3----------------------------------2
5----------------------------------5
maybe
7----------------------------------8
8----------------------------------7
Cheers :)
